It is the most efficient hitting training aid for the batter to get the maximum quality swings in a shortest amount of time. The Swing Away provides the “Feel of Hitting Live Pitching” plus it allows the batter to position the ball anywhere in the strike zone. The batted ball will never be out of control and will strike the net in a way so the batter can see the trajectory of each ball hit. The ball is safely but quickly returned to its pre-set position within 3 seconds providing instant feedback to the hitter and/or coach. After putting together my Swing Away, my son started using it right away! He was able to take hundreds of cuts without chasing balls around the back yard. He was able to work on balls all over the plate. Best of all, when you hit with this tool, you are getting a “real-feel” of the ball. There is some tension built in as you hit the ball. Hitting baseballs or wiffle balls on a tee or soft toss does not give you that feel.
I credit the Swing Away (along with my son’s determination) with helping my son feel more confident at the plate. After being somewhat shy at swinging the bat during games, he became much more comfortable hitting swinging at pitches during his at bats in games.
