My son is on a u12 AAA/Majors Elite competitive team and over-all the team plays really well as you can imagine at this level. However, the one area they struggle with is pitching. The coach NEVER practices the pitchers at practice or at any of the training events he does. They never get the chance to pitch to a real batter other than in a game situation and therefore struggle getting the ball across the plate. I grew up in baseball and remember our pitchers pitching to us. Has this changed now and what are your feelings as to when and how pitchers should practice. To me practice makes perfect…and if you never throw against a real batter, how are you supposed to perform well in a game situation.
