The Stop at Contact drill is used for two purposes. The first reason is to get comfortable with the device. Secondly, this drill helps to check for correct body alignment and posture at contact with the ball. These are two important aspects of becoming a better hitter.

DOUBLE TEE COMPETITION DRILL
Use the “cheat method” (see above) to correctly align to the tee and then start competing with an insider bat or any regulation bat in the Double Tee Competition Drill. Players love to challenge one another to see who has the best bat control and execution of the swing. This drill will also provide citical feeback to hitters if they demonstrate swing flaws.

The double tee command drill is one of the best insider bat drills to simulate an actual game at-bat. It forces players to learn how to correctly react to either an inside strike or outside strike.

LAZY BAT DRILL – HOW TO PREVENT THE UPPER CUT
This simple drill can be implemented with a batter who has a “very lazy” bat barrel on the way to contact. This is where he/she incorrectly trys to reach the barrel deep behind them and then lift the ball into the air. As opposed to working behind the ball (in a connected manner) to get on the plane of the pitch and stay on the pitch plane to and through contact with the pitch.

FRONT AND SIDE TOSS INSIDER BAT DRILLS
Two great ways to get quality repetitions swinging the bat is with either the side toss drill or front toss drill. It is very simple for the partner to give good and solid feeds to the hitter so he can work on developing his swing. I love these baseball and fastpitch softball hitting drills.

HOLD THE FINISH BASEBALL HITTING VIDEO
Simply having a batter hold his finish after each swing, especially off of a batting tee, allows a hitter to recognize where his body is in space. He or she can also correct balance issues and other posture flaws with this simple drill.
