BASEBALL FIELDING DRILLS & QUESTIONS

By doconnell •  Updated: 04/20/14 •  2 min read

Good baseball fielding drills should consist of a mixture of situational drills, glove work drills, footwork drills, throwing drills and teamwork drills. Coaches should stress proper body position, quick & efficient footwork, and working together to get outs.

Baseball is a sport where the offense fails more times than they succeed, so playing defense is imperative. Your team cannot give the other teams more opportunities due to poor defensive play. Playing solid defense is one of the things, as a coach, you can control. Focus on teaching kids to make ALL the routine plays and, if they make a great play, even better!
