The very START of the swing is a downward movement. If you don’t believe me, watch Jeter & Youkalis take their practice swings. Many weaker hitters level out their swing at the very start, creating a slight loop and making them a fraction of a second late to the ball. A fraction of a second is an eternity in baseball. Being “short to the ball” is a must!
